Indiana State Museum. My Opinion.

July 23, 2008

The building housing theIndiana State Museum is beautiful, inside and out. I have been there once with a friend and now that the days are getting hotter and going to the pool everyday is getting a little old, I thought I'd let you in on my family's impression of the ISM.
With a preschooler you're going to have a hard time holding their attention. There's a lot of exhibits that require reading to understand what is going on. However, there area few exhibits involving native Indiana animals that kept my daughter entertained for a little while. This is not a museum where your kids will plunk down and explore or play with any one exhibit for any extended period of time. But it is one where there is plenty to see with plenty of room to run around.
Perfect for a day that is either too hot, too cold or too rainy. Or those days you're simply sick of being stuck in your house. From cars and tractors to Canadian geese and a mammoth. The Indiana State Museum will give you a chance to get out and sneak a few bits of Hoosier wisdom and pride to your kids.
