I see you, you see me, we see us.

Kids love to look at themselves. And while I don't always love looking in the mirror there are plenty of occasions I can find where looking in a mirror can be fun. Add a little kid into the mix and mirrors can be even more fun.
When you're out and about look for mirrors and reflective surfaces everywhere you go, in the store, in bathrooms, in restaurants and even in your car. I've given my daughter an unbreakable mirror in the car and she's been perfectly happy looking at the world go by outside her window through her mirror. Have you ever looked up in an elevator? A good majority of them have reflective roofs. Also many buildings have tinted or mirrored glass (think Indiana State Museum.)
Obviously the first thing I thought of when I hear the word "mirror" was the top floor of the Children's museum and the maze of mirrors. Who's lost their kid in the maze of mirrors? I HAVE! Who's crawled in and out of the little escape holes only to have their child disappear into another hole? I HAVE! I've learned that it's just easier to post yourself at the entrance of the maze (has anyone ever seen me parked by that post?) and make sure your kid doesn't leave. There's no where they can go without going past you and it will save your dignity and sanity. If you have a spouse or friend with you put one of them at the exit and let your kids go crazy in the maze, they love it in there.
Around the house (which honestly with our weather) is a lot more realistic. If you have a wall mirror lay it up against a wall where it can't fall or be pulled over and let your child dance, play, sing, dress up or talk to themselves into it. If it's dark (which hello, it's dark at 5 in January) give your kids a flashlight and let them learn how light can go ino the mirror and come back out at them.
I had a giant mirror in my room growing up, I spent hours in it dancing in the Nutcracker, doing my winning walk as Miss America and practicing my skating routines.
Give a kid a mirror and give a kid a whole new way to see the world.
